Below is a detailed description of the characteristics and grading standards that describe our Country Farmhouse Plank Antique Heart Pine flooring
Country Farmhouse Plank Antique Heart Pine Flooring
Wide Plank Flooring Description
Species: Virgin Growth Southern Pine
Source: Resawn from large beams taken from demolition projects
Heartwood: 60% - 75% and better
Grain Density: 4-5 rings per inch and more
Knots: Sound knots and some partially broken knots
Holes: Some scattered nail / spike holes and possibly some larger plugged holes
Cracks: Occasional vertical aged stress cracks up to 1/8"
Face Character: Since the lumber is resawn from large timbers, the surface of planks will have no original weathering or saw marks
Color: characteristic light reddish color variations with some yellowish colors blended in. This grade will also have some of the pale sap wood colors as well.
Grain: Mixed patterns
Milling: Center matched Tongue & Groove profile and squared ends
Size: Thickness: ¾" Width: 3” - 12” Length: 2’ - 16’
M/C: 8-10% or less
