Wormy Chestnut flooring is milled from original lumber that is reclaimed from old barns as well as lumber that is sawn from reclaimed chestnut timbers. The history of American chestnut lends itself to the beauty of this flooring.

Wormy Chestnut is renowned for its rich, “aged character” that brings a sense of history and timeless appeal to any space. The planks feature scattered nail and spike holes, along with occasional original saw marks, all of which tell the story of the wood’s past life.

Wormy Chestnut planks offer natural imperfections and timeless beauty. They feature a mix of light and heavy wormholes. Tight knots and occasional open knots add to their charm. Aging stress checks may reach up to 1/8th inch wide. Each plank tells a unique story of history and resilience. This wood is perfect for adding character and warmth to any space.
Gorgeous colors and tones
Our widest plank Chestnut flooring is the most popular, but narrow and medium planks have unique charm. Smaller planks highlight intricate grain patterns and natural details, creating a distinct and beautiful look. Their versatility adds texture and character to any space, showcasing Chestnut’s timeless appeal. The flooring shown to the left features random widths of 3.5″ to 6.5″.

Wormy Chestnut has a wonderful color variation and flooring planks will range in color from a golden honey brown to some darker brown colors. Shown is our chestnut in random 4.5″-9.5″ widths.

This flooring features a much heavier reclaimed character like larger nail holes, more aging cracks and checks, some planks with the original surfaces still showing an may have larger worm holes and insect scars.
